7 Great Reasons to Take a Cruise
1. A cruise is a great vacation value
Cruises offer a great value for your vacation dollar. Your cruise fare includes your accommodations, meals (including room service), on board activities, entertainment and transportation to amazing destinations.
2. Unpack once, see multiple destinations
Who needs to lug a suitcase from destination to destination? Not you, when you take a cruise. Once you reach your stateroom, you unpack once and your floating hotel takes you from island to island. Each morning, you wake up in a new place.
3. Cruises offer something for everyone
Cruises are a great vacation option for singles, couples, young families and multi-generational families. Cruise ships offer nurseries, kids clubs, teen clubs, adult only areas and family areas. There is something on board for everyone.
4. Cruise ships come in many sizes
There is a cruise ship to fit every taste. There are ships that range from 108 passengers (AmaWaterways) to 5,400 passengers on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas. Choose the ship that offers the features and amenities that suit your vacation style.
5. Never a dull moment
There is so much to do on a cruise that you won’t know what to do first. Want to pamper yourself at the spa while your spouse hits the casino? Or lounge in the sun reading a book while your family plays basketball. You can go to an educational lecture, a wine tasting, or a dance workshop; bake cupcakes, play bridge, or do yoga; dine at a casual buffet, a fancy sit-down restaurant, a sushi bar, a diner or a steakhouse; watch a movie, a comedy routine, a song-and-dance show or live music performance. You can even watch fireworks at sea. And if all you want to do is nothing while the ship sails from port to port you can do that, too.
6. Watch the world sail by
A cruise is one of the best ways to see the most exotic and foreign destinations in the world in an easy way. Itineraries offer calls at major cities and picturesque villages, all of which will be regional highlights, so you don't have to do the research on the best places to visit in an unfamiliar destination. If you're uncomfortable with independent sightseeing in a new locale, simply take a ship's tour with English-speaking guides.
7. Use a Layaway Plan
Cruise lines usually release their itineraries about 18 months in advance. Booking when itineraries are released can offer the best rates.
Simply pay the deposit at booking and then make monthly payments to pay off the balance. Balances are usually due within 75 - 90 days of departure.
